CPE6015   Proteomics and Bioinformatics   (15 credits)

Year Running: 2015/2016
Credit level: F7

Description

Proteomics is the large-scale study and analysis of proteins, directed to analysing the functions of proteins in the regulation of cell processes. Proteomics offer a unique vantage point to dissect, characterise, understand and manipulate biological systems. Proteomics thus offers a versatile toolkit of analytical techniques for bioprocess optimisation and monitoring. This module serves two purposes - with the aim of introducing concepts of proteomic analyses, and associated bioinformatics. The focus is on demonstrating their practical application.
